Leaders of the newly formed committee of Dhaka Metropolitan North Awami League have paid homage at the tomb of Father of the state Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Tungipara in Gopalganj.

At 2 pm on Wednesday (December 2), members of the committee, led by Dhaka Metropolitan North Awami League president Md Bazlur Rahman and general secretary MA Mannan Kochi, paid their respects by laying wreaths. Dhaka North Awami League Co-President Jahanara Begum, Joint General Secretary Hasan Habib, Matiur Rahman Moti, Zillur Rahman, Organizing Secretary Azizul Haque Rana, Mizanur Rahman, Office Secretary Pralay Samaddar Bappi, Information and Research Secretary Mizanul Islam Mizu, Science, and Technology Secretary Leaders of various levels of the party including Nazmul Alam Jewel were present.
After paying their respects, the leaders took part in Fateha recitation and special munajat and prayed for the forgiveness of the souls of Bangabandhu and therefore the martyrs of 15 August 1975. Later, President Md. Bazlur Rahman administered the oath to the members of the newly formed committee.
