Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that it is her greatest pleasure to be able to provide land and houses to landless and homeless families.

The Prime Minister made the remarks after inaugurating a program to provide land and houses to landless and homeless families on the occasion of Mujib Year through a video conference from Ganobhaban on Saturday (January 23rd).
On this day, he handed over kitchens to about 70,000 families in 492 Upazilas of the country.
Sheikh Hasina said, “Today is a very happy day for me. Being able to give a home to a homeless family is my greatest joy. My father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman used to think of people. He thought and acted more on the poor helpless people than on our family members. This is his first post.
Dumuria Upazila of Khulna, Chapainawabganj Sadar, Syedpur of Nilphamari, and Chunarughat Upazila of Habiganj was included in the live broadcast at that time. Also, all the Upazilas of the country are connected online.
On the occasion of Mujibvarsha, under Asrayan Project-2, about nine lakh people are being given kitchen utensils as part of the rehabilitation process. About 70,000 families got houses in the first phase. Another 1 lakh families will get houses next month. Documentaries made by the Asylum Project were screened at the event.
