Meanwhile, a scuffle broke out between supporters of the Awami League and BNP candidates outside several centers in Panchagarh municipality shortly after polling began on Monday. Later the police and BGB brought things in check by beating them with sticks. a gaggle of youths vandalized the car of the District official at Panchagarh Collectorate Adarsh Shiksha Niketan Kendra. One policeman was injured.
Besides, two rebel candidates of Awami League and BNP boycotted the election in Chatmohar municipality of Pabna alleging various irregularities including expelling agents.
Meanwhile, police have arrested a polling agent for allegedly forcing others to choose an EVM at the Chalna Municipality Women’s College Center in Khulna. The BNP has boycotted the elections during this municipality. At an equivalent time, voting has been completed within the Puthia and Kathakhali municipalities of Rajshahi through one or two isolated incidents. Besides, peaceful polling was held in Dhamrai of Dhaka, Sitakunda of Chittagong, Khoksa of Kushtia, Shahjadpur of Sirajganj, and Baralekha municipality of Moulvibazar district.
