The district Awami League leaders believe that the change within the posts of president and general secretary of Sirajganj district has been caused thanks to party quarrels and failure to run the party as per the constitution.

District Awami League President Abdul Latif Biswas and Acting General Secretary Sirajganj-2 MP Prof. Dr. Habibe Millat was relieved of his party post by vice chairman K. M. Hossain Ali Hasan has been made acting president and joint secretary Abdus Samad Talukder has been made acting general secretary. Welcoming the change, district Awami League leaders and activists thronged the party office. They greeted the 2 guardians responsible with flowers.
In 2015, Abdul Latif Biswas and General Secretary Abu Mohammad Golam Kibria were elected because the president of the last council of the district Awami League. But after the death of the overall secretary in 2016, Sirajganj-2 MP and district Awami League joint secretary Prof. Habibe Millat was given the charge of acting general secretary.
Since then, leaders and activists have complained of internal quarrels within the party. thanks to this, several clashes happened in Sadar and Belkuchi upazilas including the murder of BCL leader Enamul Haque Vijay.
Meanwhile, Sirajganj district Awami League acting president K Krishnan said that he would work to revive order within the party and resolve the quarrel. M. Hossain Ali Hasan and acting general secretary of the party Abdus Samad Talukder.
A handout signed by central committee office secretary Biplob Barua on Sunday afternoon said the new acting president and the general secretary would remain in office until the subsequent council of the district Awami League.
