A meeting of the chief committee of the metropolitan Awami League has been held before the Chittagong City Corporation election. Awami League presidium member Engineer Mosharraf Hossain and acting central joint secretary of Chittagong division Mahbubul Alam Hanif were also present at the meeting.

The meeting was held at the residence of Awami League mayoral candidate M Rezaul Karim Chowdhury in Bahaddarhat on Friday (December 18) night. Acting President of Nagar Awami League Mahtab Uddin Chowdhury presided over the function.

The Chittagong City Corporation election was scheduled to be persisted on March 29. The committee suspended it after a coronavirus infection appeared within the country. The new election date has been announced on January 26 and rescheduling has been announced in four wards.
