A BCL leader named Mohammad Usman Sikder, 40 was shot dead by yaba and human traffickers in Sabrang, Teknaf. he’s the son of Mohammad Ali, a resident of Kachubnia village within the Sabrang union of Teknaf Upazila. Usman is that the vice-president of the Upazila Chhatra League and former president of the Sabrang Union Chhatra League.

He has shot dead ahead of his house on Friday (January 1st) at around 5:30 am while getting to the mosque for Fajr prayers. Sabrang Union Parishad chairman Nur Hossain and Upazila Chhatra League president Soltan Mahmud confirmed the knowledge.
According to the victim’s family, Usman Sikder protested the theft of a simple bike on the evening of December 27. Kefayet Ullah, son of Mohammad Shaker, son of former UP member Mohammad Abdullah alias Khulu and Mohammad Qasim, son of Katabniar, attacked Usman Sikder in broad daylight in Sabrang Nayapara Bazar of the Upazila. Usman Sikder then lodged a complaint with the Teknaf police headquarters.
According to the incident, the accused blocked the road and shot him while he was getting to the mosque for Fajr prayers on Friday morning. Hearing the gunshots, the people within the area rushed forward and therefore the accused fled. The locals rescued Usman during a bullet-riddled condition and took him to the Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared him dead.
Ayub Hossain, an emergency department doctor at the Upazila Health Complex, said Usman Sikder died before he was delivered to the hospital. Three bullet marks were found on his body.
Teknaf Model Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Hafizur Rahman said the accused were listed as yaba and human traffickers. There are several cases within their name in the police headquarters. The body is being recovered and sent to the morgue of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital for autopsy. The case is under process.
