Tuesday (February 23) Committee Member Secretary and Awami League Information and Research Secretary. Selim Mahmud gave this information.
He said senior advocate AM Amin Uddin was included in the sub-committee on information and research of the Bangladesh Awami League not as an attorney general but as a senior lawyer and a lawyer in the Supreme Court. According to the constitution of the Bangladesh Awami League, there is a provision to have some expert members in the divisional sub-committees of the party. Such expert members may not be primary members of the team. We have followed the constitution of the country and the prevailing laws, rules, and regulations in including it as an expert member in the sub-committee. There was no deviation from the law and custom.
Dr. Selim said, “We have noticed that many people have misinterpreted this issue and tried to make the sub-committee of Bangladesh Awami League controversial.” Even with the post of Attorney General, they are misinterpreting the Constitution and the law and talking fabrications, which is completely undesirable.
He said Senior Advocate Mansurul Haque Chowdhury has been included in the Supreme Court instead of Advocate AM Amin Uddin as an expert member to keep the sub-committee on information and research above all controversies and to avoid controversy in the public mind over the post of Attorney General.
