The illegal eviction activities of the South City Corporation aren’t against a person but are being administered within the interest of the town dwellers. Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, mayor of the Southern City Corporation, said nobody involved in corruption would be spared.

He was speaking after inaugurating a secondary transfer station for waste management within the area adjacent to Basabo sand field within the capital on Wednesday (December 30th) morning. The mayor also said that if a person is humiliated as a result of this eviction, the person is liable for it.
He said the canals under Dhaka WASA are going to be handed over to the South City Corporation to alleviate waterlogging. He called upon the individuals and organizations who have occupied the canal and built illegal structures to offer up the land of the canal.
The mayor said the development of secondary transfer stations for a waste transfer altogether 75 wards would need to be completed by next June. The cleaners will go from the house to deal with within the area between 6 pm and 10 pm to gather waste. So he urged the town dwellers to not leave dirt within the open.
Regarding the elimination of waterlogging, the mayor said that each one of the canals under Dhaka WASA is going to be handed over to Dhaka City WASA tomorrow. Dhaka South City Corporation will rescue the occupied canal. If the canal is restored, there’ll be no waterlogging within the city.
At an equivalent time, he warned the illegal occupants that the illegally occupied canal land should be vacated. Otherwise, the town corporation will start eviction against the occupied land.
Meanwhile, renovation work has been begun to preserve the heritage of old Dhaka. As a result, the tradition of old Dhaka will remain intact, said the mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation.
