Advocate Shah Manjurul Haque appeared for the writ petition.
Later, Manjurul Haque said that on August 16, journalist Konak Sarwar interviewed Colonel Oli Ahmed on the YouTube channel. There, he said, Ziaur Rahman was the interim president. I challenged him and asked him to ban his book. There are many negative things about Bangabandhu in several places within the book. Ziaur Rahman has been called the interim president. Controversial content has also been ruled out by Kanak Sarwar on YouTube. Barrister Imtiaz Uddin Ahmed Asif filed the writ petition.
Earlier on September 8, Barrister Imtiaz Uddin Ahmed Asi had issued a legal notice to Liberal Democratic Party President Colonel (retd) Oli Ahmed Bir Bikram alleging that he had distorted history by pertaining to Ziaur Rahman because of the ‘caretaker President’ of independent Bangladesh.
On an equivalent day, Imtiaz Uddin Ahmed Asif said that Oli Ahmed gave an interview on August 16 on Konak Sarwar’s Facebook and YouTube channel. There, he claimed that Ziaur Rahman was “the first interim president”.
But within the constitution, Bangabandhu has been called the primary president and Syed Nazrul Islam the vice-chairman. nobody has spoken about it since independence. So this statement distorts history. I even have given notice for this reason.
Imtiaz Uddin Ahmed Asif said Oli Ahmed had skilled the notice. However, he’s adamant in his statement. Then I added the reply to his notice and filed a writ petition. On Tuesday, the court asked the BTRC chairman et al. concerned to dam the YouTube content of Konak Sarwar.
