Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have said that the govt is committed to eradicating AIDS by 2030.

The Prime Minister said the Awami League government is committed to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on HIV / AIDS, i.e. to eradicate AIDS from the country by 2030. If we all work together in unity, we’ll be ready to eradicate AIDS within the stipulated time.
He made the remarks during a message on the occasion of World AIDS Day 2020 on Tuesday (December 1).
He said, “I am happy to understand that World AIDS Day 2020 is being celebrated in Bangladesh also like other countries of the planet .” On this occasion, I sincerely congratulate all concerned. At this point the theme of the day is ‘Unity of the World’, I feel everyone will play a crucial role within the current context of AIDS prevention.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, “We have taken groundbreaking steps to make sure healthcare for each HIV / AIDS infected person.” As a result, HIV detection tests are being conducted under full government management and supervision and free AIDS treatment and medicines are being provided to the infected people. So far, the speed of HIV infection in Bangladesh is below 0.01 percent. We turn government agencies also as various non-governmental organizations, development partners, and other organizations to play a simpler role in bringing this rate right down to zero and preventing all sorts of discrimination against AIDS victims.
The Prime Minister further said, “I hope to create the golden Bangladesh of the dream of the best Bengali of all time, Father of the state Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman through the implementation of ‘Vision-2021 and 2041’ within the health sector through the joint efforts of all.” I wish for the general success of ‘World AIDS Day-2020’.
