Elections in 24 municipalities of the country are going to be persisted Monday (December 28) within the first phase of the municipal elections at the top of the year thanks to the coronavirus epidemic. Municipalities to be elected: Panchagarh Sadar, Pirganj, Fulbari, Badarganj, Kurigram Sadar, Puthia, Katakhali, Shahjadpur, Chatmohar, Khoksa, Chuadanga Sadar, Chalna, Betagi, Kuakata, Uzirpur, Bakerganj, Gafarganj, Madar. , Baralekha, Shayestaganj and Sitakunda.
In the first phase, the schedule for the election of 25 municipalities was announced but thanks to the death of a mayoral candidate in Sreepur municipality of Gazipur, the schedule was announced again therein municipality. The second phase of voting in 61 municipalities is going to be persisted on January 16.
