Two cases are filed against former Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) mayor Saeed Khokon. Two cases were filed within the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury on Monday (January 11th) against the present mayor of DSCC, Barrister Sheikh Fazle Nur Taposh, for creating defamatory remarks.

The plaintiff in one case is Kazi Anisur Rahman. The plaintiff’s lawyer within the other case. Sarwar Alam. Court bench assistant Ripon Mia confirmed the knowledge. The court, after taking the plaintiff’s statement, reserved the case for 2 orders.
Earlier on Monday morning, a defamation suit would be filed against former Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) mayor Saeed Khokon said current mayor Sheikh Fazle Nur Taposh. He told reporters while inspecting the canal cleaning activities at Maniknagar within the capital.
Tapas said former mayor Saeed Khokon’s statement on allegations of corruption was defamatory. action is going to be taken against him.
Meanwhile, former mayor Saeed Khokon said that Sheikh Fazle Nur Taposh lost his eligibility for the post of mayor during a human chain within the capital last Saturday.
At the time, he alleged that Tapas had transferred many crores of rupees from the South City Corporation to his own Madhumati Bank. Besides, they’re taking crores of rupees as profit by investing many crores of rupees in various individuals and organizations.
Saeed Khokon added that Tapas has been campaigning against corruption since taking up as mayor. On the opposite hand, thanks to lack of cash, the poor employees of the Southern City Corporation aren’t getting their salaries for months. Various development projects of the town corporation are stopped thanks to a scarcity of funds.
On Sunday, Mayor Taposh commented that Saeed Khokon’s statement was his personal opinion. Later today, Tapas informed about the case against Saeed Khokon.
