Participating in the discussion on the motion of thanks on the President’s speech, BNP MP GM Siraj said, “Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and eight other heroic freedom fighters were mentioned in the President’s speech.” But he could not thank Zia for not mentioning his name.

At that time, the members of the ruling party started shouting in the parliament. He further said that money is being smuggled abroad, bribery, corruption, terrorism, murder, and rape have spread in society.
He said the government supporters are doing all this. The whole time he was talking, there was a lot of shouting. At one stage, Deputy Speaker Advocate Fazle Rabbi Mia Sardar, who presided over the session, called on the party members to remain calm and said, “Let him tell what GM Siraj is saying, you will say it later if necessary.” The BNP MP thanked the speaker.
The incident came to light during the discussion on the motion of thanks on the President’s speech in the 11th winter session of the National Assembly on Sunday.
GM Siraj further complained that bribery, corruption, terrorism, murder, rape have spread to all levels of society. These issues did not come up in the President’s speech. He did not give any direction in this regard. So I can’t thank the President for his statement. I’m sorry about that.
He further said, where is the corruption in the Ministry of Banks? Corruption has spread from town to village. Corruption is rampant. Highlighting the corruption in the Ministry of Health, he said, “GK, the martyrs have humiliated Bangladesh in the world by selling fake certificates of the corona. The looters are smuggling money to different countries. Everyone from Bachchu to PK Haldar is supported by the government.
He alleged that 10 lakh crore rupees have been smuggled in the last 10 years. Member of Parliament (MP from Laxmipur-2 constituency Shahid Islam Papul) has been jailed in Kuwait. He has tarnished this parliament, the country has been tarnished. At that time, he presented the account of the government’s expenditure of hundreds of crores of rupees in various elections and said that now the election means the certificate of victory of the Awami League candidate only after getting the nomination. So what is the benefit of spending thousands of crores of people’s money on this election?
At the same time, GM praised the Siraj government and said, “I will praise the Prime Minister for curbing terrorism and militancy.” I commend the Prime Minister for the development of women and the education sector. I would like to thank him.
My objection is to what the President said in his speech about democracy and Susan. There is no democracy in the country. There is no good governance.
“Even though we are less members in the parliament, the people want to hear our speech, the speaker wants to hear, the prime minister wants to hear,” he said. But my fellow members are shouting, it’s bad practice. I am not new to this Parliament. I’ve been here before. I was also in Parliament during the Awami League in 1996. The current Prime Minister was still the Prime Minister, I did not see it then, now a huge change has taken place. It is not good for democracy.
After GM Siraj finished his speech, Deputy Speaker Fazle Rabbi Miah said, “I will hear your two words about the President later. I will do it if necessary.” You are talking about democracy, the members of your party spat on me in this Parliament. I did not do Awami League then, I did Jatiya Party. When you talk about democracy, you also have to speak the language of democracy. We have to talk about the President with respect.
Addressing the members of Parliament, the Deputy Speaker said that in order to do parliamentary politics, one has to be tolerant.
