Clashes broke out between BNP leaders and activists in Rajshahi over sitting within the front row of the program. The incident happened at noon on Wednesday (December 30) during a protest rally on the road ahead of the Malopara BNP office within the city.

The city BNP of Rajshahi organized a rally on the occasion of ‘Democracy Killing Day’ on the occasion of the two-year anniversary of the Eleventh Parliamentary Election. The chief guest was Mizanur Rahman Minu, advisor to the BNP chairperson and former mayor.
Witnesses said that the leaders and activists got involved in an argument as they were sitting within the front row at the start of the rally. The incident later became a scuffle. Mizanur Rahman Minu, the advisor to the BNP chairperson, was present at the time. The senior leaders of the party including Minu quickly took care of things. Later, the BNP ended the rally peacefully.
Nagar BNP president and former city mayor Mosaddek Hossain Bulbul presided over the rally. Among others present were top leaders including district BNP convener Abu Saeed Chand.
