A sub-committee on the culture of the Bangladesh Awami League has been formed for the term 2019-2021. Obaidul Quader, General Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League, approved the 45-member sub-committee on December 24 at the behest of Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina.

The sub-committee has been formed with Ataur Rahman, a prominent playwright, because the chairman of the advisory council of the Bangladesh Awami League, and Asim Kumar Ukil, the cultural secretary of the Bangladesh Awami League, because the member secretary.
The practice of forming divisional sub-committees started from 2018-2019. Ataur Rahman and Asim Kumar Ukil also acted as chairman and member secretary respectively within the previous committee. These two leaders will lead this sub-committee again.
This time the sub-committee has been formed with the predominance of the previous leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League, an ally of Awami League. Besides, important people in various fields of the country’s cultural arena have also been included. Soaked within the spirit of the War of Liberation, immersed within the ideals of the daddy of the state and unwavering within the leadership of the daughter of Bangabandhu, this subcommittee will work to make sure the coexistence of Bengali and Bengali culture with politics.
The committee includes former culture minister Asaduzzaman Noor MP, MP Simin Hossain Rimi MP, state minister for culture KM Khalid Babu MP, former state minister, former MP Tarana Halim, former Juba League leader and prominent cultural figure Choyan Islam, Mashranga Television chairman Anjan Chowdhury Pintu, Daily News Editor Altamas Kabir Mishu, Actor Azizul Hakim, Actor Ferdous Ahmed, Actor Zayed Khan, Actor Harunur Rashid, Actor Ehsanul Haque Minu, Musician Rafiqul Alam, Musician Shuvro Dev, Former DIG of Police Md. Mozammel Haque, Md. Journalists Animesh Chakraborty, Muhammad Asif Iqbal, Padmavati Devi, Trina Majumder, Md. Abu Talha.
Among the previous BCL leaders are Golam Mostafa Sujan, former president of Dhaka University BCL, Mohiuzzaman Chowdhury Moyna, former Daksu leader, Subrata Chanda, former leader of the school of Fine Arts, Nurul Alam Pathan Milon, former deputy secretary of the central BCL, Mostafizur Rahman Mostaq, former joint general secretary of the BCL. Ashikur Rahman Ron, former cultural secretary of Central BCL, Soumen Chandra Bose, former general secretary of Narail district BCL, Saiful Azam Basar, former president of BCL’s Muhsin Hall branch BCL, Sanjeev Das Apu, former leader of fine arts faculty, Aslam Hossain Shihir, former cultural secretary of Central BCL, Central Former BCL cultural secretary Anjam Masud, Saeed Babu, former BCL BCL leader. Shahadat Hossain Nipu, former BCL leader Taherul Hasan Shibli, nineties student leader Jayant Acharya, former central BCL deputy editor Fahad Yusuf Hossain Pramit, eighties student leader Mosharraf Hossain, former central BCL deputy secretary Golam Baki Chowdhury, former central BCL deputy editor Fatemakh Has been a member of this subcommittee. it’s learned that among the BCL leaders who have ties with the cultural arena, they need been given priority within the committee.
Regarding the sub-committee, Member Secretary and Cultural Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League Asim Kumar Ukil MP said, “Politics and culture go hand in hand in one and therefore the same way.” Healthy culture drives politics on the trail of progress. thereto end, a sub-committee has been formed with former leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League and skilled and tested people from different branches of our culture.
