533 landless and homeless families are becoming houses in Osmaninagar, Sylhet. Of these, 215 families are given single houses and 318 families are given barracks. The Upazila PIC Committee is implementing the project under the Asrayan-2 project of the Prime Minister’s Office. An allocation of Tk 25 crore for land and house construction has reached the Upazila administration.

It is learned that the Upazila PIC Committee has started construction of homes in government places to gift land including land to all or any the homes and landless (class A) houses in Mujib Year in implementation of the promise of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. One lakh 71 thousand rupees has been spent on each disaster-tolerant house. Construction of homes has already started by identifying government lands in several areas of 8 UPs of the Upazila. at the present 10 houses are constructed at Khashipara Dighirpar in Tajpur UP, 28 in Ilashpur in Gayalabazar UP, 40 in Berarchar in Sadipur UP, 7 in Burunga own Burunga, 5 in Sirajnagar of an equivalent UP, and 10 in Dhirai village of Dayami UP. Meanwhile, construction work of 10 houses at Dighirpar in Khashipara village of Tajpur UP has been completed. at the present, when the development work of 100 single houses has started, work is underway to spot the remaining 115 single houses and barracks for 318 families in several areas of the Upazila. As soon because the work of identifying the land is completed, the development work of all the homes will start in phases.
The tinshed semi-finished house features a veranda with two rooms, a kitchen, a toilet, and utilities. The list of homeless and landless is being sent to the office of the Assistant Commissioner (Land) and therefore the office of the Upazila Nirbahi Officer through the local Union Parishad. Meanwhile, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Afsana Taslim has spoken to the ten homeless beneficiaries who are shortlisted for 10 houses built at Khashipara Dighirpara in Tajpur UP. within the same process, the remaining houses are going to be provided to the beneficiaries.
Osmaninagar Upazila Nirbahi Officer and President of PIC Committee Tahmina Akhter said, “In Mujibvarsha, a complete of 533 landless and homeless families are going to be provided houses in our Upazila.” I even have already started building 100 houses. Of these, work has been completed in 10 houses. The remaining houses are going to be handed over when the development work is completed.
