Dhaka two city corporation mayor Sheikh Fazle Nur Taposh and Md. Atiqul Islam said four more bus terminals would be built around Dhaka to revive order within the capital’s conveyance system. The two mayors told reporters after inspecting land in Bhatulia and Birulia areas of Savar near Dhaka on Wednesday (December 23) morning. They made the visit as a part of the implementation of the path Rationalization Committee found out to revive order and reduce traffic jam within the capital’s conveyance.

During the visit, Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh said 10 sites are identified for the development of the inter-district bus depot. Four places are visited from there. Mayor Tapas said four places might be acceptable. The mayor of DSCC said, “First we visited the Bhatulia Birulia area. Later I will be able to visit another place in Hemayetpur. Next time we’ll attend Kanchpur and Keraniganj. I will be able to make a choice within the meeting to be held in January after seeing these places. Then I will be able to send advice to the ministry.
Atiqul Islam, mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), said 160 buses on the route from Ghatarchar to Motijheel wont to be operated by 29 companies. They want to compete and drive buses on the road. we’ve taken the initiative to bring it through a corporation.
He said city buses will run inside the town. Buses from different districts will stop at designated bus terminals around Dhaka. this may stop the bus competition within the city. the 2 mayors said the Gabtoli, Mohakhali, and Sayedabad bus terminals would be operated as city terminals.
