Under the government’s shelter project, 1,470 families are going to be left homeless in Faridpur at this point. the shortage of a house will alleviate their smiles. On the occasion of Mujib’s centenary, 1,470 displaced families in nine Upazilas of Faridpur are being given semi-permanent houses under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s Asrayan-2 project.

These houses alongside land are going to be handed over to the beneficiaries by January 2021. This number of beneficiaries may increase further, said the concerned.
The total cost to create these houses under implementation by the administration is about 25 crore 72 lakh 50 thousand Tk. One lakh 75 thousand rupees allocated for every house. With this money, they need two rooms, a kitchen, a toilet, and a porch during a room 20 feet long and 22 feet wide.
Faridpur Deputy Commissioner Atul Sarkar, while inspecting the development work on Machchar Union in Faridpur’s Sadar Upazila on Saturday morning, told media persons that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was giving these shelters as gifts to helpless families as a part of the birth centenary celebrations of Father of the state Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Upazila level officials are working tirelessly from morning till late night to implement this work.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the tears of joy that we’ve seen within the news of receiving this house among the beneficiaries are going to be the inspiration for our future path.
